Release 3.5 (July 17, 2014)
Support for Isolated Networks with On-Premise applications - Sentinel Cloud now provides the ability to detach licenses from Cloud Connect for machines that operate in Isolated Networks and never connect to the Internet.
Improved Proxy Authentication Support - Sentinel Cloud Run-time can now be configured to use Windows credentials automatically for authenticating proxy server. For proxy detection, the location of an auto-proxy configuration (.pac) file can be specified in Sentinel Cloud Run-time configuration file.
Windows 7 Embedded Support - Sentinel Cloud Run-time now supports Windows 7 Embedded platform.
New Fingerprint Utilities for On-premise applications - This release introduces .NET utilities for fingerprint extraction and fingerprint-entitlement management. These utilities simplify the process of machine registration and various other machine management tasks.
License generation for Indefinite Duration - It is now possible to generate licenses for an indefinite duration for On-Premise machines.
Release 3.4 (January 15, 2014)
Capacity Notifications – An additional notification allowing a software publisher to predefine a threshold of license capacity and to be notified when the use of a license approaches and/or exceeds that amount.
Release 3.3 (Sept 26th, 2013)
Linux Support – Sentinel Cloud Run-Time now supports Linux for On-Premise Licensing
Release 3.2 (July 3rd, 2013)
Commuting License – Sentinel Cloud now has a mechanism to detach a license from the cloud to be used locally. This detached local license can be used when completely disconnected from the internet.
Sync API – A newly introduced API to allow an on-demand synchronization between Sentinel Cloud Connect (the cloud license manager) and Sentinel Cloud Run-Time. Using this API usage data collected locally by the Sentinel Cloud Run-Time will be sent to Sentinel Cloud Connect.
Release 3.1 (May 31, 2013)
Platform Agnostic Licensing Interface – A newly introduced Web Service licensing interface that allows a software publisher to license their application or cloud service. Using this interface, a software publisher can leverage Sentinel Cloud from any development environment and from any platform.
Release 3.0 (December 28, 2012)
User Log Tampering Notification– Sentinel Cloud now has a mechanism to provide notification upon detection of tampering of usage logs.
Release 2.1 (July 2, 2012)
License Model Time Granularity – Sentinel Cloud now allows a software publisher to define down to the hour/minute while defining a license start and end date. This also provides the capability of defining a license that is valid for only a few hours, for instance 5 hours.
Concurrent License Session Refresh– A newly introduced API that allows refreshing a concurrent license model session. Through the refresh a software publisher has finer control in tracking sessions that are no longer in use.
License Models Include Vendor Attribute - A new attribute, Vendor Attribute, has been introduced to allow a software publisher to define a value that can be queried during run-time by the application. This provides the capability to specifying configurable data during license creation that can further control the behavior of the application. Also introduced were two additional reports for use with the Vendor Attribute: Custom Vendor Attribute Report and Feature Usage Based on Vendor Attribute Report.
Release 2.0.0 (March 13, 2012)
Application Hybrid Deployment Support – Sentinel Cloud allows a software publisher to license and authorize users to an application that is delivered as either a service in the cloud or on premise inside a customer’s networks. This feature enales a software publishers to take advantage of the entire licensing feature set through a common licensing API. This allows the software publisher, with the same source code, to license their application once for all delivery methods and then when they sell their application they can then choose which way to deliver, whether it be in the cloud or on-premise.
EMS Custom Attributes – The ability to store custom data, inside EMS, for each Feature, Product, Customer, Contact, and Entitlement.
Release 1.3.1 (December 22, 2011)
Sentinel Cloud C Runtime interface has now been fully verified to work on Ubuntu 10.04.
Release 1.3.0 (November 30, 2011)
NOTIFICATIONS - The ability to pre-set rules that the licensing system will send notifications when licensing events occur (or are near).
These notifications can be sent via email to the software publisher and/or to the owner (customer) of the license. The following rules were introduced in this release:
- License Date Expires In N Days
- License Date Has Expired
- License Usage Exhausted
- License Consumption Has Reached N%
- License Has Entered Into Grace Period
- License Has Not Been Used From N Days
Release 1.2.0 (August 16, 2011)
GRACE: EXECUTIONS - Improved licensing: Enable your (ISV) customers to exceed their limits with a predefined grace period. Do not deny access to your (ISV) customers to your service instead, allow them to extend beyond their paid for terms and use the opportunity to improve relations and drive sales events.
SENTINEL CLOUD RUNTIME C-INTERFACE – Extending the interfaces supported to leverage the capabilities of our Sentinel Cloud system by allowing applications that can interface with C libraries to call the licensing APIs.
Release 1.1.0 (July 25, 2011)
GRACE: SUBSCRIPTION - Improved licensing: Enable your (ISV) customers to exceed their limits with a predefined grace period.
